We believe it's great to have a positive impact on our environment in the future with what we do today, for example, by planting trees.
We are proud that our forestry project Álfabrekka is the first project that falls under the Forest Carbon Code that has received certification from Enviance Services Private Limited in Iceland, an internationally accredited certification body (VVB). All forestry projects of Skóálfa ehf. meet the requirements of ISO 14064-2:2019 and are in line with leading international standards for climate projects. Grímsness and Grafningshreppur sees an opportunity in increased forestry on the land we have. Forests support water conservation and many other things that are also positive for the environment. There are many trails in the country that are fun to walk around and no less when the trees start to grow up, a real adventure for young and old.
Vision for the Future
At Skógálf ehf. we want to support Iceland's growing leadership role in the innovation of forestry for carbon sequestration. Our forestry projects will continue to promote sustainable land use and address global climate issues for years to come.
